Getting started with QRACCESS
Before you run event access control at a real door, get four things ready: the account, the group/event, the scanner users and the mobile app — and do a test run of the QR check-in before attendees arrive. The same dashboard account works as an administrator in the app, and scanner users give door staff limited permissions on their own phones, with no dedicated scanning hardware.
QRACCESS has a mobile app for Android and iOS. Installing it and signing in is the first step.
The recommended sequence
- Account. Create your account, or sign in, at the web dashboard (control.qraccess.com), available in six languages: English, Spanish, French, Catalan, Basque and Galician. If you manage several accounts, make sure you are in the right one.
- Group. Create a group/event of type list, registration or ticket sales, with the QR validity that fits your case.
- Event. Set the name, dates, time zone, how scans are counted, online/offline mode, alerts and visible fields (see setting up an event).
- Scanners. If the door staff should not work with an administrator account, create limited scanner users and assign them to the event (see creating scanner users).
- Test. Install the app, select the event, grant the camera permission and try some scans before the doors open.
Download and install the app
The QRACCESS ONLINE app is available for Android and iOS. In the app, select the event and open the SCANNER tab to start scanning QR codes.
- Android: from Google Play.
- iOS: compatible with iPhone and iPad, from the App Store.
- The search inside the app finds events by event, group or shift name.
- If an event does not show up, check the CONFIG tab and the selected date.
- The first time you scan, accept the camera permission when the app asks for it.

Get the app
Run a test before the doors open
Scan a test QR code yourself and check that the scan shows up as expected. Five minutes of testing the day before saves you from debugging with a queue in front of you. If something does not behave the way you expect, the troubleshooting guide covers the usual causes.
From here, the usual next steps are importing your attendee list, opening an attendee registration form or connecting your own system through the attendee API. And when you compare costs, keep in mind that QRACCESS pricing is per attendee registered, not a percentage of the gate.
